Well it looks like I have no choice but to disassemble it all again, anyway. So I will try moving the window up and down in its tracks like you said. The other thing is that the regulator came from LMC truck in a specific position, all the way up. I could try hooking up a 12v supply to the motor and testing its functionality before trying to cram it back into the door, but primarily to have a little more room to get the thing in there. I just couldn't shove the glass any further upwards.

Thanks for your input I'm gonna do it when I get home from work!
