I use the automotive bolt gear puller also for both techumseh and BS. Works well although some of those flywheels are tough to get off. It will work on either most small engines, but any gear puller (or flywheel puller) is tough to get in there where you need it to pull the thing because of the limited space between the flywheel and the side of the engine where the clamps fasten down.

Just be very careful with those fins, they do break and the flywheel can warp if you put too much pressure on them. Some times a little tap on the bottom sides (after you put pressure on with the gear puller) of the flywheel with a leather mallet can pop them right up. Whatever you do, don't use a hammer or metal object to tap them trying to get them off. LEATHER only if you have one of those mallets.
