Question 98 Tahoe power window motor/regulator install problems

I'm in the process of installing a new driver door power window motor/regulator in my 98'. I got it attached to the inner door panel and reattached to the window and door. Before I put in all the screws I decided to plug it up to the door panel switch and test it. It makes like it wants to move but stops immediately. the rear end of the door glass seems to try to go down, not much movement in the front. I observed this while trying to make the window go up and down. It goes back up of course but it's reached the top of its travel and can't go any further.

Has anyone experienced this before? Do I have something jibbered inside the door causing it to get hung up? I've done several of these before on different vehicles but don't remember having so much trouble.
