Web accelerator crashing in IE8

Hi,

I'm a tech support worker at a small ISP. One of our rural customers on dial-up recently installed Internet Explorer 8 on his Vista machine. He's successfully used our web accelerator software, but after IE8 was installed the accelerator stops working after a little while being connected. The only way to get it working again is to disconnect from the Internet and dial in again. The problem persists through uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Our accelerator is a pretty typical variant from what I gather: it applies some image compression and works with servers in our offices to cache pages that customers frequently visit. Can anyone think of something different in IE8 that would cause this software to behave unreliably? Thanks.
