Vista --> XP sharing

sorry, i posted this in the general networking forum before i saw this forum, and i realised this forum would be more fitting:

OK, i have a wireless network at home. it has 2 vista laptops(wireless connection) an XP laptop(wireless connection), and a vista desktop(direct local connection)

all have been assigned static ip addresses and access the internet with no problems, where im getting a problem is with printer and file sharing.

1 of the vista laptops, the xp laptop, and the vista desktop are in the same workgroup(had to clear it up cause i know id get someone mentioning), the last one i just havent gotten to yet, i wanna work out all compatibiity issues between differant OS' and connection types first.

k,

ok the vista desktop under network i see both the laptops in the workgroup, and can access the vista laptop perfectly and not the xp

on the vista laptop, it can only see the vista desktop but can't connect to it

on the xp laptop if i click view workgroup computers in my network places i get this error: "Homegroup is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available"

i am confused to death at this,

any help is GREATLY appreciated thank.
