Question A quick question (about closing threads)

I understand that everyone has their own idea (about how things should be done/run) & that people are particularly touchy about forum adminstration (being on many-a-team of forum/site administrators), so it's no biggie... This has nothing to do with the threads/posts being mine, I just happen to notice them because of it.

The "Reset Volume Control" thread was recently closed, with an explanation: "This thread is 3 yrs old and will no longer be active". This thread has more than 1.5K views and I had found it through a Google query. This many views isn't so bad at all, right?

So, anyway, we aren't the first, nor the last of the people that will and/or have a similar/equal problem; But the thread is closed and it'll get buried, if not lost. Isn't the point of a forum, that everyone will have access to and use the information within?.. Otherwise we might just email each other (personally), or use something like Ask Yahoo!

Just a though :-F

ps.
Here's another one. Even if the "OP is no longer interested" - there's bound to be a couple of other people that will have used WinZIP ;) :)
