My 486DX2 66Mhz ran Win98 (originally Win 3.0) VERY smoothly. Probably smoother than any other PC I've ever had... of course, I did a bit of optimizing...
When I bought that 32mb SIMM I thought I had just gotten more memory than I'd ever use... before I upgraded to Win98 that is. (Don't ask why I just skipped Win95.)
