first i want to start by saying.. i have a PC chips motherboard and i HATE HATE HATE them!.. not because they are unreliable.. but because they have issues..=) like AGP VOLTAGE CHANGE GRRRRRRR.. anyways... try a fresh partition and format on the disk before any installation.. because if you didnt format before installation you could have some software conflicts of some sort.... hope this helps! have a good one!!!

Partitioning which is used on this harddisk prohibits creation of a permanent swap-file. You can create a permanent swap-file
