DNS transfers from non-existant hosting company

Okay, last time I was here I got hijacked by somebody around Russia and could not get on my site. I got some help with that so I am coming back to try to resolve my current issues.

Problem:

I had my hosting on the reseller account of a friend halfway around the world I used to work with. They shut their reseller account down and along with it, their web site. I have tried to get in touch with them but have been unsuccessful to date. I know where they bought the reseller account but they cannot give me any contact information and my queries to whois have also gone unanswered.

I arranged for new hosting but now, I cannot sign in to my old account (since the company and web page are no longer there) and thus, I cannot forward my DNS entries to point to the new nameservers.

Any ideas on what I can do? I have had the same web page for a number of years and would like to keep the same name.

With thanks,
