I am running a Dell C610 laptop with Ubuntu Server 8.10. I have it configured with wakeonlan in the bios and it works. However, if the laptop lid is closed it will not start. I have manipulated the power settings in the bios in an attempt to fix this but to no avail. Is this a problem with wakeonlan or am I missing some setting to allow for booting with the lid closed.
