Re: is this laptop good enough??

That laptop is actually surprisingly close to the one I'm using now, which was (still is) a gaming notebook that I bought less than 2 years ago. I don't know what you will be using this for, but I think it's a great PC for the price, considering I paid twice that price for a similar laptop 2 years ago .

The only thing that doesn't really make sense to me is that it has only 4GB of RAM, yet has Vista 64-bit on it. If you don't know, there are 32-bit OSes and 64-bit OSes. The difference is in how much RAM the CPU can address. In other OSes like XP and Vista 32-Bit, the most RAM you can have is 4GB. You can see that by taking 2^32, which gives you the max RAM in bytes. Then divide that number by 1024 three times, and it magically gives you 4. Now, if you take 2^64 for the 64-bit OS, you get a significantly higher number. Again divide this by 1024 three times, but this time the max RAM you can have is a little over 17 billion GB. A crazy number, but it's the only way to get above 4GB, which in higher end computers, isn't really enough.

That's the only reason I say having Vista 64-bit on a PC with 4GB doesn't make much sense. I've never used Vista 64-bit, but I've seen it on my roommate's PC, and as far as either of us can tell, there's nothing wrong with it.

Hope that helps in your decision and sorry if I rambled too much .
Oh and I don't know anything about what the shipping or taxes would be
