Can't charge Laptop as AC connection broken

Hi,
I have a Phillips Freevents X55 laptop which unfortunately I dropped and the AC connection port seems to have broken. As it's pretty old now, I have no idea what I can do to salvage it. I don't want to lose all my data either and only have about 45 mins remaining on the battery life so don't want to use it all up fiddling around with it either. Is there any other way of charging the battery perhaps without having to buy a new laptop or is it just going to be cheaper to buy a new one after all this time? I got it in 2006.

Thanks! :)
