I am having a problem with my Inspiron 6400. The display is starting to darken from the left side of the display and will not match the brightness of the right hand side.

When I increase the brightness to the max level, I can here a buzzing noise. This disappears as the brightness is reduced. The original battery was on its way out, and has now been replaced.

Any thoughts on what is causing this, and better still, how it can be resolved.
