Cry Need help...fast

So I got this laptop(Systemax), haven't used for like 3 years I think. last operating system I remember on it was Windows 2000, I'm not sure which one. I cant remember the specs on it since I was quite young, now when i turn it on it starts up normal (Starting windows, bar flies across) then BAM blue screen and it calls me a bad pool caller?

BAD_POOL_CALLER

so I thought I'm gonna get my windows 2000 install disk and chuck it in there, but for some reason it doesn't respond to the CD and goes straight to booting from the hard drive (yes I changed the boot order via bios to CD). so i try my XP OS, but this time its a different blue screen.

The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated bios. If you are unable to obtain an updated bios or the latest bios supplied by your vendor is not ACPI compliant, you can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup. To do this, simply press the F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers. The system will not notify you that the F7 key was pressed–it will silently disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation.

someone told me i have to update the bios. but how am i gonna do that if i cant even log in. HELP!
