Re: Windows 2000 on SATA drive?

To set up a SATA drive on the newer mobo, the BIOS needs to be configured to SATA controller mode and a RAID array in the RAID BIOS even for a single drive.

The chipset drivers disk that came with the mobo cannot be installed until the OS is installed and running.

The problem is during the OS install phase, like other OSs, W2k allows for new drivers to be inserted by pressing F8. Although the same drivers work for XP and Vista, they aren't compatible with W2k and for some reasons, AMD dosn't seem to support W2k by providing a new version.

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully installed W2k on a SATA drive with RAID driver as required by the newer mobos, particulary those that use chipsets other than AMD's. Please share your experience.
