''Turn on wireless capability'' - but it is on and still not working!

I wasnt sure whether this problem is a networking problem or a laptop problem. Basically my sisters laptop ( Sony VGN-NR32L) has been able to connect to our wirless network fine until recently when it just stopped, she swears she hasn't done anything, but that is questionable!
My laptop still connects so I dont think it is actually a problem with the network, rather the laptop itself.
When I click diagnose and repair it says ''Turn on wireless capability'' but the wireless LAN switch on the laptop is on. I really don't know what to do.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Emily
