KVM problems! Any hints?

Hello,

Something not so hightech today, the KVM for one of the Sun servers has froozen. We have not been able to find the cause. Here are the symptoms:

* KVM screen works and gets refreshed in a window by the Sun server, also boot of the server is displayed
* KVM prompt doesn't flash and appears not to accept input
* KVM mouse pointer doesn't move
* The KVM doesn't react on the keyboard input to switch server
* We have restarted the Sun servers
* We have "restarted" the KVM
* When the primary server is boots, KVM will show the login window, but no input. It's frozen immediately.

Any ideas? Possible errors:

* Sun server software (x windows)?
* cables from kvm to kvm switch or kvm switch to sun server
* kvm switch itself defect?
* keyboard / cable from keyboard defect?
