Description of Problem: For approximately the past month I have had intermittent disconnects from the Internet. The connection will be working fine for an hour or half an hour then will disconnect. I can usually re-connect immediately whereupon it will continue to work for an hour or so before another disconnect. I have had broadband service for the past 4 years without this problem. I have called Century Tel 2x recently, they say that they are not having any problems in our area. I have been reading up on possible reasons for my disconnect issues on line. The two most common reasons would seem to be line noise and an older router. I am wondering if the router might be my problem. Perhaps I need a new, faster router since I have 3 computers all trying to use my internet connection. Although up until a month ago I had very few disconnects and I have not made any recent changes such as a new phone, answering machine, ect.
Any advise would be appreciated.
