Vista crash while encoding video

I've recently started having a problem whenever I try to encode or convert video files. Any file that ends up being over about 30mb in size while being encoded will cause my computer to throw up the BSOD. When I get back onto my desktop I'm told that the problem is with the nforce SATA drivers and that I should download the newest drivers. Thing is, I've done that. I've done some searching around and found that this isn't an uncommon problem, but haven't found any sort of answer that helps me out. I would appreciate any suggestion from anyone. I leave it to you and your vast computer knowledge.

More details:
I am running Vista x32
2 GB DDR2
nforce 590sli mobo
AMD X2 6400+
geforce 8800GTS
