Re: Adding a link to shared document into a Calendar entry in Outlook 2003
Right... I have managed to get a bit further, but as of yet, it's still nothing ideal.
The best I can do is to create a Word document with the link to the shared document (G:\Andy's Files\Events 2009\Mr. Michaelson Hip Course.xls) on it and nothing else. Save it. Then in my calendar entry insert this Word document as an embedded object so the link appears in the actual calendar entry itself.
However, to activate the link, you have to double-click the "object" at which time you have to click through a pop-up box which asks you to confirm that you trust the embedded object. ("Some objects contain viruses that can be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that this object is from a trustworthy source. Do you trust this embedded object?")
This, again, defeats the purpose of the link being the quickest way possible to access the information, and is by no means brilliant. Maybe if someone knows how to set Outlook so you no longer need to click through the pop-up box every time, it automatically "trusts" the embedded objects it would save time?
Again, any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
