Adding a link to shared document into a Calendar entry in Outlook 2003

Basically I'm trying to find out how I can add a link to a document in a shared network folder, to a Calendar entry in Outlook 2003.

I have a shared Calendar in Outlook which approx 10 people on my network can access. Also accessible to these 10 people is the shared network hard-drive, which contains, as you would expect, many shared documents, namely excel spreadsheets.

I have set-up a specific Calendar to organise events which I am managing, and for each event there is a separate Calendar entry, often spanning 2-3 days. Within each of these entries I would like to include a link to a certain excel spreadsheet which has all the affiliated information on each event, e.g. You double-click a calendar entry and are greeted with a link (e.g. G:\Andy's Files\Events 2009\Mr. Michaelson Hip Course.xls) which when clicked instantly opens the spreadsheet.

Sadly, however, I have tried a number of things, but to no avail. Does anyone know if this is at all possible, or of any kind of work-around. The best I have come up with so far is attaching a word document which contains the link, but it's clumsy and defeats the object - any help would be much appreciated.

Please let me know if you need any other information, or if there is anything else I can add to clarify?

Many thanks,

Andy
