Hi Wico.
First, be sure you have backed up all your personal data you wish to keep.
Make or have a copy of your Vista OS incase we need to reinstall Vista if need be.
You will need a legit XP CD (with SP2 if possible)
Xp SP2: Here is a link for SP2 if you need it:

You will need to slipstream certain file to a cd to install XP on this laptop.
This link gives you detailed instructions on how to do this:

Once the CD is made you can install windows.
When windows finishes the installation you will nee to install the drivers.
Please install the following drivers in this order:
CHIPSET Driver
Install and
Reboot
Graphics Driver
Install and
Reboot
Lan Driver
Install and
Reboot
Wireless Lan
Install and
Reboot
At this point you should beable to connect to the internet.
Do a Microsoft Update but
do not install SP3 at this time.
You will also need these paks:
NET Framework 2.0
Install and
Reboot
Once the updates are done and the pak is installed you may proceed to the next step.
MS UAA Driver
Install and
Reboot
Audio
Extract Files to a folder. Run the installer. If it errors upon installation use device Manager.
From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD".
Choose Update driver.
Check no to connect.
Install from a list or specific location.
Don't search I will choose the driver to install.
In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers.
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
REBOOT.
Modem
Run the setup file if it errors try to manually install the driver through the Device Manager (similar to the Audio driver)
Install and
Reboot
HDMI Driver
Install and
Reboot
