BSOD daily, mouse stops working
Hi,
I have a really weird PC problem and hope you can help.
First of all let me list my specs:-
Microsoft Windows Vista (6.0) Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (Build 6001)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3
4GB Corsair CM2X1024-6400C5DHX (4x1GB)
XFX 768MB 8800GTX
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W PSU
2x 78GB WDD Raptor Sata drives (Not Raid)
1x 750GB
Logitech G15 Keyboard
Logitech G9 Mouse
When I first switch my PC on in the mornings, it boots into windows ok but the mouse LED flashes incorrectly, one LED flashes on and off slowly. The system will BSOD within a minute.
On reboot, the PC will be stable in windows, however the mouse will not move, even though the buttons on it will work fine. After 20minutes or so the mouse will suddenly work fine. This made me think that things were working ok when they warmed up, which made me think of mainboard.
The software which controls the LCD screen on the keyboard always resets to default on the reboot, which is highly annoying.
I have tried a different mouse/keyboard in this PC, and it worked fine.
I have tried different USB ports, no change.
I have tried this keyboard/mouse in another PC, they worked fine.
I have had limited success in plugging in the keyboard/mouse after windows loads, I dont like doing this however, also it still fails sometimes, but I must say that even when it fails, the time before the mouse fully becomes active is usually less when using this method.
Any ideas please?
FYI:- I have had problems with the RAM in this PC as it requires 2.1v I believe. The RAM also died once and was replaced via RMA.
