Re: Can't get any Drivers to work!

Standard procedure to reinstalling XP is to install the motherboard drivers immediately thereafter, which can be downloaded from Dell's support page.

Dell's driver dowload section is very difficult to figure out, as they don't label their drivers with names that give you a clue as to what they are for. For example, your Wireless Network drivers might be named something like "R834532", while your Sound Card drivers might be named "R234393".

ROYAL PITA !

What I do is spend the extra time to download EVERYTHING on the page; every single thing, and store it all in a very well-organized folder system, and label each folder with what driver. Oh yeah, and they don't just give you the drivers, the give you a self-extracting compressed file, which then launches the install utility, so you don't know what is being installed sometimes until it is half-way started. So get ready, it takes a lot of patience. Keep Device Manager open the whole time, so you can see what drivers are done, and which still need to be done.

Also, install "Unknown Device Finder", which might help in identifying which devices are still "undrivered" (lol).
