So you tried Knoppix or Ubuntu and it gave you a blue screen? Did you download the ISO file and used Nero or ImgBurn or similar to burn the image into a blank CD? If you just copied the file directly to the blank CD, you would not be able to boot from it... may be that is why you still get the blue screen. I may be mistaken but booting from a linux live CD would have a different symptom or error at least... not BSOD.
