so pretty much the only way of me getting my data back is to pay $1000s of dollars to have the the stuff recovered?

well maybe then there is a way to initialize the drive? The bios and windows see the HDD they just cant tell me how big it is or anything, it says it needs to be initialized. When I try to initialize it, it says its write protected - anyways to possibly remove this?
