Hey, thanks a lot for the reply. I'm fairly sure it's not a drive circuit board or spindle motor issue, as it works just fine in windows. As for the power supply, same thing. The weird thing is that it seems to happen on every storage device on the computer when in Ubuntu or loading Ubuntu. I would have thought it was a PCI bus problem, if it wasn't for the USB drive recreating the problem as well.
