Question Huge Problem!

Aight guys this is probably gonna take a collective of all the tech savy minds up in here. Here's the problem that's driven me to wit's end:

I have a SONY VAIO GRZ-610 everything was fine until I caught a virus. Now unless I'm mistaken it was put on my Fujitsu 160GB external hard drive by some hater. Ain't mentioning any names. Don't remember the exact name of the virus but it had "vorbis" somewhere in the name. I was using AVIRA at the time and it detected it, but could not delete it. So I checked online and got a couple suggestions. After I did what I thought would erase the issue, I was faced with a new problem. When I try to open the drive from My Computer I get this message "Cannot find script file F:/ntidir.vbs" If I open it from Run it's fine. At this point I'm thinking i'm rid of the virus.

Some time later I notice that my laptop is really struggling to run basic files. I decided to monitor the CPU usage. Sometimes even when idle it would jump up to high percentages approaching 100%. Now I cant view videos, pictures, even listen to music without the machine jumping up to 100% and forcing me to cut off all programs. I mentioned this to a friend of mine and he suggested formatting the hard drive and reinstalling windows. We did that, I connected my Fujitsu external hard drive again starting playing music for a bit. Eventually same problem, music starts to skip and chop...I don't know what to do. I've got alot of files on the drive that I need. I hope SOMEONE here can help me out 'cause for real, I'm stuck right now. Much appreciated...will check back later
