Mistake Vista to XP on Compaq CQ70-127NR

Hey guys this is the issue:
I just bought a Compaq CQ70-127NR, it comes with Vista Home Pre. but as I do not like the OS, I did some research and found all the drivers that would be required for the XP OS.
But here is the Problem:
I cannot install XP on this Laptop.
The first issue was the SATA drivers, found some information on the HP Help Forums, and slip streamed the SATA drivers into the Installation Disk.
The Original XP Disk was SP1, but I have slipstreamed SP2 in it a long time back, so I used this Installation Disk with the SATA driver for the Installation.
The Install starts OK..
First: It copies the initial drivers to the HD... then checks the HD and then copies Installation files to the disk (It formatted the HD in the first go), after coping the files, it goes for a reboot....
Everything normal till now... BUT here is what happens next...
On Reboot, it gives the Prompt "Press any Ket to boot from the CD......" and just hangs there...
The Installation of XP does not proceed further from this point....

Anyone out there please help....
Details of the Laptop:

Compaq Presario CQ70-127NR 17" Widescreen, Intel Pentium Dual-Core T3200 : 2.0 GHz• 250GB HD • 3GB DDR2 RAM • HDMI output.

I would really appreciate any help on this issue.
