do you get a successful single beep from post?
Have you tried using a known good video cable or tried using the cable you have on a known working machine?
It's good to hear the hard drive spin up.

I know it sounds crazy but I had a build that didn't have a speaker to sound beep codes and it did exactly as you describe. The cable I was using was a DVI to HDMI and it was the only one I had. Out of frustration I took the box to a local shop and they charged me like 40 bucks to tell me nothing was wrong with my computer. I had a bad video cable that had worked just two days earlier.
