Its a SATA drive, the DVD-rom is using the only IDE slot. When I push the on button, the fans (CPU HS and rear fan) turn on, the DVD-ROM and HDD lights turn on and stay on. I can also hear the hard drive turn on. The system stays on until I turn it off by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. The only thing that does not respond is the monitor. I've tried it on two different monitors, both Samsung though since that's all I have (different models though).
