I've set the IDE config to sata and pata, but still,it doesn't recognise them, them being my primary HD and dvd rom drive.I am trying to do a clean install of XP pro,but for the life of me I can't figure this one out,any help here guys

system specs

intel dual core 3.0ghz cpu
160 gb ide hd
250 gb sata hd
600watt psu
geforce 8800gs (not installed yet)
mobo as above
3gb ddr2 ram
just removed my ide hard drive and hey presto,it recognised the dvd drive, installing xp pro again as we speak, will xp recognise my ide drive instead
