Yes!, you wouldn't want to buy a new/used header after it cracked, would you?
Go back to your parts jobber, explain your situation about the too short wires, and that you also need spark plug wire looms. they mount between the valve cover, and the bolt that holds it down.
Mr. gasket makes a nice chrome set that'll hold two, three, or four wires depending on your application, goes for $3 to 6 bucks.
Using the looms though necessitates a longer wire set.
