I would say if you're willing to spend, a 3870 is great, but if you're on a budget, the 3850 is good as well.

For dual channel to work, both sticks should be identical...so a pair of 1 GB sticks is preferred.

To finalize this so you can move on magnethead, everything you listed should work? I will have to "tweak" my case to fit the cable for the power supply other than that it will work?(I don't mind doing this as my tower is out of site.)

Either the HD 3850 or HD3870 are good cards that will do what I want? (I think I will try to find a good HD3870 since the price difference is not huge)

I replace my ram with the sticks you have listed?
