You probably have the stock dell RAM.

Get a memory KIT- a pair of 1 GB matched modules. This replaces your existing RAM stick (keep it on hand, in a static proof bag...you never know what you might need it)

For proper support: what are you running? graphics, cpu, m/board, ram, PSU brand wattage
PCI-E requires 26 amps at 12 volts. That's a 650W PSU.
