I am having a simular problem, however the laptop doen't freeze up, it is just real damn slow at bootup, i have looked into this and one of our local techies suggested to go too the AMD website as this is the processor that this laptop has in it, i was told that some of them have this freeze/ slow boot problem, he suggested further, that a friend of his had this same problem and was solved by going to the AMD website as there is a new updated driver/program that will likley solve the problem, i did go there and sure enough there it was, i downloaded it and it solved the problem, that was after i done the same cleaning and changing out the ram, It is a processor upate,
