The benifit of getting a quote to move the projector, is that you can also ask for a quote for ongoing maintainance.

On the plus side, if the cables run down the wall, you will be decreasing their length: which is good.

If you can't remember who originally put it in, then its probably quite an old unit. So its worth pondering some questions:
What do you use it for; is it bright enough, and have enough resolution.
Is it in a very dusty environment, and how much do you use it.
Is there a reason it is so high; is the screen high, does it need to be (as a rule of thumb a projector should be mounted somewhere within the vertical plane of the screen, normally aligned to the top edge).
If it were portable, would you benifit from using it for other things.
