This is not a "technically sound" method, but you can try it if all else fails. Get someone else who has Vista SP1 - make sure they went to Windows Update and got all their patches. Then go to their WMP folder, copy all the files, zip them, send them to yourself, then unzip them to your WMP folder. Hopefully things will work. And yes, WMP11 is the version bundled with Vista - I don't believe there are any WMP installs for Vista on the Microsoft site anyway.
(I got this idea when another poster did it with Outlook Express (aka Windows Mail) - all his files disappeared mysteriously).
