My System

Re: System PTEs

Not quite right. Originally installed 9500GT on XP Pro rig & after rebooting & logging in to windows, it immediately blue screened. Removed card & drivers & installed that card into my Vista Business rig & no problems. Wife's rig(Vista Business) also upgraded to 9500GT with no problems. Wife's 8500GT installed on XP Pro rig & same blue screen. Removed card & drivers, & reinstalled 7100GS, ok for normal use, but if video or other high intensity graphics, it will pixellate.

Installed 8500GT in XP X64 rig & same blue screen. Before I install any gpu as an upgrade from another card, I always uninstall previous drivers.

Returned XP X64 rig to onboard graphics, & no problems.

XP Pro, 3gb DDR400 & Jeantech 700w modular psu.
XP X64 8gb DDR800 & Jeantech 700w modular psu.

Both Vista Business rigs also have the same Jeantech psu.

Blue screen states "the driver is mismanaging system ptes & since this problem does not occur with onboard vga & the cards work with Vista, I'm assuming it's the graphics driver. Have tried earlier versions from NVidia, but keep getting same blue screen.
