Toshiba not booting DOS and Windows, but Linux

Hi,
I have an old (10 years) Toshiba Satellite 490XCDT laptop with 94MB RAM, 4GB HDD, Pentium II Processor. I have installed Linux (Vector Linux) in it, and it worked. Later I tried to reinstall it with Windows NT 4.0. I was successfull in booting from a CD and creating the partitions (Including bootable primary partition). But when rebooting the system it is not able to boot from the hard disk, it shows some junk values in the screen, but not able to boot from the primary partition (C). But if I install Linux on it, it works fine!! I tried to install DOS 6.2 as well. But the same result, not booting. What could be the reason?

Thanks,
Lloyd
