Re: Vista Installation On Brand New Builds

Thanks for looking manic. Yeah, I only have one 2gb stick of ram in at the moment. I bought 4 2gb sticks (hence part of the reason I want to run 64 bit--for video editing). I don't think it's a RAM issue. I will try to wipe the drive clean and see where that gets me. Could it have something to do with the DVD-rom. I'm kind of at wits end to get Vista on this build. I've tried burnt OS disk as well as factory disk; same error. I'm completely hugger-muggered. Is it possible that mobo or dvd drive need updates to 'install' 64 bit platform? Is it really likely that I get an error message about checksum not matching if it's an issue with left-overs on the harddrive. It seems like it wouldn't be hardware issue with the build I made since XP Pro went on no problem.

Again, thanks for thoughts.
