Not sure if there is a setting in bios., maybe you should take a look.
If there was a 32bit os installed on the drive previous, I would use
killdisk to wipe the drive, then start over on the os install,,,64bit..
Does sound kind of strange....start with one stick of ram, might be a
compatiblity problem with the ram...hard to say remotely from where
im sitting,,,,
