I have an ailing HP dv6000. It's a couple of years old and has worked fine (except wifi-another story).

Recently, it started a cycle of booting up, displaying normal desktop, then flashing up blue screen with a full page of text describing an error that only stays up for two seconds then shuts down and starts boot cycle again.

Is there a way to keep it alive and run some diagnostics or something?
