My System

speeding up my router

So I have a belkin wireless G router - 2.4Ghz-802.11g

And I've had this for ages now. I've always experienced a little lag with games, but since I reset my router (clicked the little reset button on it), It had been having MORE than lag in games. This is bad because I'm getting a new gaming PC on saturday. Basically, I'll have a little lag every now and then, but sometimes it just freezes in the middle of my game (urban terror), and says "connection interrupted". So it stayed like that for around 20 minutes when I decided to start the game again, and the same happened some half an hour or so after.

So, my question is, does anyone have any tips to stop this from happening, and making it as speedy as possible for when I get my new gaming PC? (which I mainly got for online play)...
