Thanks Brian for that but when I googled this just before I asked on this forum I came across this site: http://www.probsolvexpress.com/produ...partno=SV421DD which suggests I can use dual monitors. However as I said in my post I am not familiar with any of this KVM technology which is why I asked.

So do you not think it is possible to run two pcs with dual monitors?

My original thought was to keep the editing pc away from the internet so as to avoid any problems but of course I'll need registrations and updates so I'll probably need to network them in some way after all.

Before I start to think about components and building the new pc I just need to clarify that I can use both monitors as I don't want to have monitors oozing out of every orifice.

If this dual set up is possible are there any points I need to understand to make everything work ok or do I simply just plug everything in and fire it up?
