Problem

I also have an ASUS A7V333 Motherboard.

According to my info, the maximum FSB (front side bus) for the CPU is 266 MHz and the top AMD chip you can use with it with an updated BIOS is the Athlon XP 2400+.

The 2500+ has a 333 MHz FSB. Read your ASUS manual and correct me if I'm wrong.

You can use 333 MHz memory (PC2700) but the performance gain isn't much improved over 266 MHz (PC2100). I have stayed with the PC2100 memory so there isn't a frequency mismatch, even though the board allows it. I also use the Athlon XP 2400+ CPU.
