Please help
I have a fairly old computer. It runs XP well, I have had it for over 5 years now. The problem I am having is that when I try and put discs in the drive, 98% of the time my computer drive makes some werid noises like it is trying to read the disc but cant, the light flashes green constantly, before stopping and the computer claims that there is no CD in the drive.
I have tried turning the computer on and off but to no avail, I have no idea what to do. I cant afford a new computer at the moment (A friend of mine is going to build one for me when I can) so I was thinking about getting an external CD drive, however my computer is not a laptop. Does that matter?
The thing that is really bugging me about this is that my computer read this same disc before I had to turn my computer off, now it is back on and not working.
Im hoping that I have posted this topic in the right area, I was having some trouble trying to find where I should post this.
So what can I do? Should I just buy a external CD drive as a temp fix? Or is there something else I can do?
