Wrench thanks for posting that! i checked and made sure i had the standoffs only attached to the holes with silverrings on the motherboard (and i did), so i am not sure the motherboard itself is grounding to the case. But that link is very helpful, i hadent realized you could attach everything to the motherboard outside of the case like that, when i get the new parts i ordered in a couple days i am going to test everything one by one during the install.

Quick question for you, if any of the CPU pins (say like 3 or 4) are slightly bent when you place it into the socket, does that keep the computer from posting or booting up whatsoever?

while installing the heatsink i managed to bend a few, so i took it out and did my best to straighten them, however they wouldint go back to the perfect original position if you know what i mean
