Hello. Please could someone help me wiith the following.

I have a Sony Viao laptop. When I switch the power button the three green lights on the top right light up for a second. The "clock" green image stays on. However, the screen remains blank and it doesn't "fully connect" so I can see the screen.

When I switch on and off many times or take the battery out and re connect etc. (this may take more than twenty minutes) the computer finally switches on properly.

What is the reason for this? Thanks.
