Computer Starts, but Won't Start

I've combed the net trying to see if anyone else has had the exactly problem I have, and either my searching's crappy, or I just haven't found anything.
Basically it's like this - My computer used to start up just fine. Then it progressed to not starting up fully. I would turn off/unplug the PSU for half a day to a day and plug it back in to find it working again. I have no idea why, but so far that's working, but I dont know anymore..

What exactly has been happening?
Well, when I try to power on my PC, it hangs immediately. The "working" light on the case remains solid, and the CD-ROM drive's light also stays solid. It doesn't go anywhere, nor does anything come on my monitor. Upon power on, my monitor turns on, says no signal, then goes into power save.

What can possibly be making my system hang IMMEDIATELY out of nowhere? This only started a few weeks ago. Now 1 out of 2 times I turn off my computer, this happens again. I tried switching out the RAM and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I also saw elsewhere that taking out the CMOS for a few works, but it didn't for me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
